WAIT TIME
Longer lead times than stock
Custom orders run 4-8 weeks; stock-size lines move faster. Plan the schedule around build time.
Harvey is the brand we reach for when the openings are non-standard. Custom sizing is what Harvey does by default — not upcharged, not slow — which makes them the right call for the older homes where two windows on the same wall are never quite the same dimension.

Harvey treats custom sizing as standard manufacturing rather than an exception. For us, that's fewer compromises at the estimate — when a Louisburg historic home has an opening that's 32-3/8 wide on one side and 32-5/8 on the other, Harvey builds both windows to spec instead of forcing the wall to accept the closest stock size.
Tribute vinyl and Slimline fiberglass are the two we install most often. Classic Wood and Storm round out the line for historic and storm-sash use cases.
01 · HarveyTheir flagship vinyl line. Double-hung, casement, slider, picture configurations. Custom sizing standard, not an upcharge.
02 · HarveyThe fiberglass step-up. Better dimensional stability in temperature swings, narrower frame profile, holds paint.
03 · HarveyWhere the project calls for real wood interior with clad exterior. Less common in our pipeline but available when the architecture asks.
04 · HarveyAluminum storm sash systems for historic homes where the primary single-pane window stays and a storm sash supplies the thermal layer.
Four decision contexts where Harvey beats MI. The common thread: custom dimensions or architectural detail beyond what stock-size brands can hit.
Four contexts where Harvey is the right brand call. Most projects fit at least two — we’ll confirm which applies to your home at the estimate.
Older homes have openings that aren't catalog sizes. Harvey builds to exact dimensions instead of forcing shims.
Brick walls settle. Frames drift. Harvey makes each window to spec — MI would force a compromise.
Historic Louisburg, Franklinton restoration core, custom fenestration — Harvey preserves the language.
Harvey custom orders run 4-8 weeks. If you need windows in two weeks, MI ships faster.
Three contexts where Harvey is the wrong call. The brand to pick instead is tagged on each card.
Every brand has projects where it’s the wrong call. Knowing where this one falls short matters more than knowing where it shines.

Custom sizing costs more. The premium pays for precision — but the budget conversation has to come first.
Fewer regional supply houses. Damaged-unit substitutions can mean longer waits than MI's depth.

Custom sizing. Harvey builds to exact non-standard dimensions as standard manufacturing — not an upcharge. The right call for pre-1970 homes where openings on the same wall measure slightly different.
